Members of CARVE Pakistan had taken vows to embark

“Collaboration against religious violence and Extremism” (CARVE), is formed on the Global hug day by Mr. and Mrs. Inderias Dominic Bhatti, the role model peace heroes of the world from Pakistan. The other founder members include: Mr. James; Mr. Muhammad Ikhlaq; Mr. Naeem Tubasum, Mrs. Shaheen Bhatti, Mr. Kashif Nawab and Baji Rebecca who have been peace activists for decades. In his words about the philosophy of CARVE Mr. Bhatti said that it is a group f peace activist that opposes, resists and eliminates bigotry, prejudice, violence and extremism based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and disability in the present religiously motivated violence. Along with extremism mapping in Pakistan he contextualized the present situation of Christian – Muslim conflicts and violence.
“The organization is committed to foster understanding, acceptance and tolerance amongst diverse groups in the community”, he added.
Mrs. Bhatti introduced “Global Hug Day” and its philosophy of acceptance and gesture of physical togetherness that break the bonds of differences and move forward to social harmony and support for mutual gain and growth of each others.
Answering about the nature of CARVE Mr. James Rehmat said that it is a membership organization which is open to any individual or organization which subscribes to the purpose, goals and philosophy of CARVE.
“Our goal is to foster peaceful coexistence among diverse groups in Pakistan the community. In addition, CARVE cooperates with local, state, national and international communities to develop:
- An awareness of the seriousness of religious violence and extremism;
- To study hate and hate crimes in context to prevention, communal harmony and peace;
- An effective response to hate and hate crimes and violence;
- Contribute whatever we can, wherever it happened to be with our best possible resource and competencies limits in violence and extremism cases;
- To engage the like minded individuals, groups and institutions for joint effort against religious violence and extremism;
- And an informational center on issues related to religious violence and extremism”, he added.
Mr. Naeem Tubasum said that CARVE will take its start from UC- 142, Yohanabad, Lahore through mindset of acceptance and social harmony through activities that is beyond differences and divides. He thanked The UC- Nazim Mr. Tariq Javaid Tariq for his support and encouragement.
Baji Rebecca said that CARVE is a consciousness of human dignity that always seeks to do good to help and heal; never to hurt or destroy and thus will carve the mindset that will take its way forward to regulate from individual liberty to collect common good.
There were 137 Christian Muslim participants who hug together on this inaugural as a gesture of their gesture of friendship and love on this day.
