Celebrations for Anniversary of Evangelisation of Taiwan
Vatican City: November 16, 2009, (PCTV Newsdesk)Made public today was a Letter from the Holy Father, written in Latin and dated 14 October, in which he appoints Cardinal Jozef Tomko, prefect emeritus of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, as his special envoy to the closing ceremony of celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the evangelisation of Taiwan, due to take place in Taipei on 22 November.
The cardinal will be accompanied on his mission by Bishop John-Baptist Tseng Chien-tsi, auxiliary of the diocese of Hwalien, and by Fr. Ruben Martinez O.P., pastor of the Immaculate Conception at Wanchin in the diocese of Kaohsiung.
