Follow the Work of Rev. Richard Cizik at Copenhagen Climate Conference
New York: December 11, 2009, (PCTV Newsdesk)Odyssey Networks, the nation's largest coalition of Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith groups promoting the causes of tolerance, peace, and social justice through media production, is providing video coverage of the world's interfaith community in action at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP- 15). Odyssey's "Faith at the Summit" launched on Monday, December 7 with news videos following the activities of Reverend Richard Cizik and other faith leaders.
Rev. Cizik, former VP for Governmental Affairs of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE), is the founder of the "New Evangelicals," whose mission is to spread awareness of climate change among evangelicals and to promote a form of environmentalism known as "creation care."
Rev. Cizik has created a video diary (vlog) of his activities around the climate summit. The latest entry, made just before his departure for the Danish capital, conveys the need for prayer in the face of the challenges posed by climate change, as well as a reminder about personal responsibility for creation care. "God told us to be stewards of the earth," he says. "It was among his first commandments." Follow Rev. Cizik from Copenhagen at www.odysseynetworks.org.
