Police detain Believers in Karnataka, India on 14th December
Karnataka, India: December 17, 2009, (PCTV Newsdesk)Pastor Benedict Sunil (41) was invited by Ev. Rammana to his home in Amathi Village approx. 8 km from Gonikoppal, Kodagu District for a Prayer Service cum fellowship gathering of around 100 believers
Around 11.30am a Police Sub inspector of the Amathi Police out post along with four constables disrupted the fellowship and verbally insulted the Believers and falsely accused the Pastor of forced conversion of the naïve tribe in the Amathi village.
The police interrogated many of the Believers about their Faith’. Sub inspector wanted to prior permission had been sought from thee landlord of Rammana rented.
11 believers including Pastor Sunil and Rammana and a Believer identified as Franklin were taken to the station for further inquiry.
At 1.30 pm, Believer were shifted to the Virajpet Police Station and detained there for few hours. They were later released on a compromise that they would not conduct any more fellowship and would return the next day.
On 15th morning, 6 believers including, pastor Sunil, Rammana, Franklin and other 2 believers went to the Virajpet Police station. Believer Rammanan was asked to submit an apology letter along with a promise letter that they would not conduct any more fellowship.
