Latest Update: Shazia murder case, Chaudhry Naeem's remand extended till February 3, 2010
Lahore, Pakistan: January 29, 2010, (PCTV Newsdesk)A local court in Lahore extended the physical remand of Advocate Chaudhry Naeem for another six days in the Shazia murder case earlier today.
Advocate Naeem was presented before Judicial Magistrate Saleem Sheikh at the Cantonment courts earlier today. The police had requested for a 10-day extension in the remand, however, the magistrate extended it to six days and Naeem will be presented before the court on February 3.
Media personnel were not allowed to enter court premises for security reasons and a large number of police personnel were deployed around the court.
During the hearing, Shazia's family and community members held a protest outside the Cantonment courts against Chaudhry Naeem and his family.
Meanwhile, Shazia's mother said that the police provide protection to her family as they are being threatened by lawyer groups. She said that Chouhdry Naeem offered her Rs 30,000 after the death of her daughter to withdraw the charges against him but she wants justice.
