Bishop Anthony Theodore Lobo, Bishop of Islamabad/Rawalpindi Diocese requested to the Holiness Pope Benedict XVI for early retirement and his requested was granted. The Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana, the Ambassador of Holy See in Pakistan announced Bishop Rufin Anthony as Bishop of Islamabad/Rawalpindi at 4:00 pm on Feb 19, 2010.
Bishop Rufin Anthony had been appointed as Coadjutor Bishop of Islamabad/Rawalpindi on 21st September 2009.
