Around 100 participants prayed for the Board of Governors, Principal Dr. Bernadette Dean, the teaching staff, workers and the students that with the help of the Holy Spirit all the concerned disputes maybe resolved with the peaceful dialogue to ensure the quality education of Kinnnaird college and university.
Due to the cleanup operation started in December,2009 by the Principal Dr. Dean, dispute started and on last Friday March 19, 2010 the newly appointed registrar Dr. Naeema Khursheed resigned saying that she took this step in greater interest of the Kinnaird College and University.
One of the male participants told the media present that they are not gathered in front of the college for any protestor agitation but for the prayer service to seek guidance of God for all decision makers to take appropriate steps for saving the repute of the institution. One female participant said, “ we are not worried about the burning sun but to ask the Lord to let the true justice be done”.
The prayer participants were holding banners which read, ”make me a channel of your peace”. The Chief Minister and the chairman of the Board of Governors Bishop of Lahore Alexander John Malik is in regular contact to solve the dispute in a peaceful manner.
The KC principal is being accused of maladministration in admissions on a self finance basis while the Principal is determined to maintain the educational standard like any other renowned college or university of the country. It is interesting to note that the government tribunal was unable to find an y blame against the principal of any type of financial mismanagement but is stated that she inherited the financial management system from the former administration.
