Result day at the Ananias Rehabilitation Centre, Yuhannabad, Lahore

"I am glad to be here with the special children who are confident and talented. If they are encouraged, they can perform better than the normal human beings.” Chief guest Akram Gill, Member of National Assembly was talking to the friends of Ananias Rehabilitation Centre, management and the students. The result day was organized by Caritas Pakistan Lahore at the Yuhanabad based centre on the 27th of March, 2010.

Akram Gill continued that for the success in Pakistan the close collaboration of the religious and political leaders is essential. He said that the missionary educational institutions have to closely focus on the development of all especially that of the poor people.Sabir Saroya commented that the special children are more talented than the other human beings. They need our constant attention and appreciation and they can produce enormous results.

Mike Wickely, UK based chairman of the organization viz. Star Fish Fund for Asia said that the special kids have the honour to be taken care of and they have done well during this year as their results have shown. He further said that the responsibility is given by God to each to take care of every other human being. He appreciated the efforts of Khalida Nelson, the program manager of ARS. Mike said that more will be required from the ones who are given more. Hence God given talents are to be used for the betterment of all humanity. He referred to St. Paul’s dedication to preach the Word of God and was ready to suffer for the Sake of Jesus.Khalida Nelson welcomed the guests and sought future cooperation for the special children. She said that the friends of ARS are in regular touch and help in their capacity on all levels.

Another teacher Zariana told in her annual report that the 21 special kids from 6 to 19 years and 3 brail teachers had 6 exposures and have enjoyed their presence here. Zarina requested from the friends of ARS, donors and people present for the watch man, a vehicle and extension of the centre.

 The speakers expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the administration and kids. The other speakers included Sr. Genevive Ramlal SCJM, Sr.Zakia Jamal SCJM, Sr. Pauline Medical Mission Sisters, Mrs. Michael, Naira Charles, Mrs. Sabir Saroya.Gulnaz and Salma did the comparing and prepared several items with the help of the other special children including skits, songs and the Bible reading.

Fr. Inayat Bernard, Executive Secretary of Caritas Pakistan Lahore said while thanking the guests and kids that God is gracious who motivates the hearts of people who come forward to help and share their resources with  the deserving people. He requested for a continuous help and support on financial and moral level. He made a special mention of Khalid who always says that she does not need cash but help in kind so that the actual needs are met. He said that it is an appreciable idea of Khalida Nelson and many other institutions can learn from her attitude not to accumulate money but do the development work for the deserving humankind.

The 80 guests and kids joined in the special meal also sponsored by others along with the tens and sound system.  The kids were given result certificates and different gifts.
