While most of working to highlight and end injustices under the blasphemy laws, one way or the other, let us update you with latest data collected by NCJP on the scale of abuse. NCJP would like to acknowledge the limitations involved in data collection therefore this is the minimum number of case that surfaced.
The sheet brings home the sad fact that Asia is neither the first women to be given sentences nor the first women to face other human rights violations including extra judicial killing (at least 34). According to documented cases, 22 Muslim, 14 Christian, 1 Ahmadi and 1 Hindu women have been made to suffer under blasphemy allegations. Let us give blasphemy law a final push to bring this injustice to halt.
