St Micheal's celebrates it's 5th Anniversary in Sharjah

The Pakistani Christian congregation of St. Micheal's church celebrated it's 5th anniversary of Urdu Mass in Sharjah. The Chief guest Father James Shamaun was invited from Peshawar for the event and interestingly even participated in a play organized and was written by Mrs. Fouzia Zaffer that turned out to be the highlight of the evening with praises from all those watched the well co-ordinated stage play with lights, sounds and a mesmerizing vision of heaven and hell video.
The event also included performances from the youth and children organized by Mrs. Monica Tauro.
St. Micheal's is a multi-cultural church where communities such as Filipinos, Arabs, Pakistanis, Keralites, Goans & many others gather in the Lord's name. St. Michael’s Church was founded in 1971 and 5 years back the Pakistani congregation was blessed with the introduction of Urdu mass 5 years ago.
Father Matthew is the Urdu priest for the Pakistani community and travels almost 400 kms back and forth from Abu Dhabi to Sharjah to preach to the Sharjah community every Friday afternoon and the rest of the UAE Catholic Churches also. Interestingly Father Matthew Fernandes; an Indian citizen has learnt to read and write Urdu to preach the word of God to the Pakistani community.
The St Micheal's organizing team had invited choirs from other Churches too from Dubai and Abu Dhabi's St. Joseph choir to participate and perform.
