4 countries announced on Sunday evening that the sighting of the crescent of the month of Shawwal 1443 AH has not been confirmed, and that the first day of Eid Al-Fitr will be on Tuesday, May 3, and that tomorrow, Monday, completes the month of Ramadan, and Tuesday is Eid Al-Fitr.

The Central Committee for Sighting the Crescent in Pakistan announced that it was not possible to see the crescent of the month of Shawwal, and then announced that Tuesday is the first Eid al-Fitr, according to the Pakistani news website Dawn.

The head of the committee in charge of reconnaissance of the crescent, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, announced at a press conference in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, that the crescent could not be seen.

“No real testimony was received about the sighting of the crescent, and therefore it was agreed with consensus that Eid al-Fitr will be on Tuesday, May 3,” he said.

And the International Astronomy Center stated, through its official account on the short tweets site, “Twitter”: “Pakistan announces that the sighting of the Shawwal crescent has not been proven, and that Tuesday, May 03, is the blessed Eid al-Fitr.”

Iran also announced that Monday is the completion of the month of Ramadan, and Tuesday is the first day of Eid al-Fitr, according to the Iranian “IRNA” news agency.
