5 European countries account for 26% of Egypt’s exports

Western European countries received 26% of total Egyptian exports last year, according to the latest official data.

According to the Foreign Trade Bulletin published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, Italy, Malta, Spain, the United Kingdom and France respectively constitute the Western European countries where Egypt’s exports are concentrated in terms of the total value of Egyptian exports. The value of Egyptian exports to Italy last year was about 2.884 billion dollars, which is 25.4% of the total Egyptian exports to European countries.

The value of Egyptian exports to Malta is about $1.909 billion, followed by Spain, with an export value of about $1.871 billion. The value of Egyptian exports to the United Kingdom last year was approximately $1.166 billion. Egypt’s exports to France are about $1.088 billion.

Egyptian exports to Italy were petroleum and its products worth $1.126 billion, followed by iron and its products at $440 million, aluminum and its products at $349 million, and plastics and its products at $212 million. Finally $157 million worth of fertilizers.

The most important exports to Malta are petroleum products worth $1.886 billion, while the most important exports to Spain are petroleum and its products worth $658 million, iron products worth $447.5 million, and plastics and their products worth $145 million, andit’s ready with a value of $115.6 million, fertilizers worth $66.5 million and organic and inorganic chemicals worth $73 million.

As for Egypt’s exports to the United Kingdom, they represented $351 million in machinery and electrical equipment, $144 million in fresh fruit, $116 million in plastics and its products, and $73 million in fertilizers.

Egyptian exports to France include petroleum products worth about $369 million, fertilizers worth about $193 million, and organic and inorganic chemicals worth $76.6 million.
