5K image and high refresh rate. HTC showcased new virtual glasses

The main attraction of the VIVE Pro 2 model is the 5K high resolution, so the novelty offers a higher resolution than any 4K TV. The virtual impression is created thanks to a pair of monitors with RGB matrix, each one offering 2.5K resolution to one eye.

The image is very sharp not only because of the high resolution, but we can also use a special optical group that merges two lenses for each eye instead of one. Plus the refresh rate is 120Hz, so the glasses are also suitable for playing games.

To achieve maximum user comfort, the VIVE Pro 2 has smooth adjustment of eye distance, an ergonomic head restraint system, and last but not least, a perfect front-to-back balance. So the manufacturer promises that even during long virtual sessions, there is no risk of headache and eye pain from an inappropriate distance between the lenses or a strain of the occipital muscles, which are usually caused by headphones with a center of gravity in the front.

AMD and Nvidia are involved in producing glass, specifically in display stream compression technology. Thanks to it, maximum visual quality can be achieved even when connected via DisplayPort 1.2. In practice, owners of older graphic cards should have all the image enhancements.

VIVE Pro 2 glasses will go on sale from 4 August for 37,490 CZK.

Even earlier – on June 24 – a second novelty will appear on store shelves, aimed at professional users, the VIVE Focus 3 model. The manufacturer makes no secret of the fact that with the Troika it is mainly targeting the corporate segment, although support for 5K resolution is also not missing. There is a 90Hz refresh rate as well as an RGB sub-pixel arrangement.

The most prominent feature of VIVE Focus 3 is its built-in speakers, which have two motors for each ear. The producer promises that they will be able to impart a more sincere musical experience. As with VIVE Pro 2, focus has been placed on improving overall ergonomics and comfort in use.

The computing power of this headset is provided by a specially modified version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chipset, which is cooled by a 15W copper heat pipe and a fan. As a result, the processor does not heat up even if you are using it all day.
