Liverpool are in intense talks with its star, Mohamed Salah, about signing a new contract with him, as the “Reds” are looking to link the Egyptian winger to a long-term deal.
According to reports, Salah has asked the English club to sign a well-known striker as part of his contract negotiations.
And the German “Sky Sport” channel claimed that Salah had asked to buy a new striker during the discussions about the deal, so that the Reds would be linked with Erling Haaland, who is scheduled to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and with Lille’s French star, Jonathan David.
The request, which seems somewhat strange, comes in the context of the Egyptian star’s quest to ensure the continuity of Liverpool’s competition for all titles through a rapid replacement and renewal process by including the best players in the world.
Salah’s request is added to his condition, which is the huge salary that the player aspires to, which is said to reach half a million pounds per week.
Mohamed Salah’s contract, 29, expires at Anfield at the end of next season.
It is noteworthy that Mohamed Salah joined the ranks of Liverpool in the summer of 2017, from the Italian team Roma, for about 37 million pounds.
The Egyptian striker has participated in 229 games since his move to Liverpool, during which he scored 147 goals, assisted 67, and won many titles, most notably the 2019 Champions League and the English Premier League 2020.
