Manchester United coach Eric Ten Hag sent a special message to the team’s fans after winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday at the expense of Newcastle United.
Manchester United won their first title since 2017 when they won the League Cup final against Newcastle United with two unanswered goals at Wembley Stadium.
The official Manchester United website published the Dutch coach’s message to the fans, where he said: “To all Manchester United supporters I wanted to take the time to address you directly this morning when I arrived at the club. We talked about the challenge and the importance of reuniting this group of players with our wonderful fans.”
“Believe me, this team knows exactly how important you are, The bond between the fans and the team is there for all to see and what we experienced together yesterday will only serve to strengthen that bond.”
And he continued, “The atmosphere that those of you generated at Wembley was great from the first minute until the last. You were there with us leading the team, supporting them and encouraging them to cross the line to bring the cup back to Manchester.”
And he added: “For those of you who were unable to attend, we felt your support before, during and after the match. I know that each of you will always play their part in the success of this team. Everyone who represents Manchester United.”
And he continued: “We set high standards for ourselves every day at Wembley. We fulfilled these demands and won the first trophy award together. We know the importance of titles throughout the history of this great club. We are very happy to return the trophy to Old Trafford, but we are not satisfied in any way and we will not stop here.” .
He continued: “We have experienced together the feeling of what winning together means for Manchester United. It is really amazing and will make each one of us even hungrier for more success. This group has made great strides in the past few months but there is still a lot to come. I can assure you that everyone is in Carrington will work hard because we know this club, and you, our fans, deserve more great days like these.”
He concluded: “We will return to work today with full focus now on preparing to face West Ham in the FA Cup on Wednesday night. There will be no complacency in our desire to return this club to where we want to be. Thank you for your support and dedication.”
