Al-Ahly club rejected a proposal put forward by the International Football Association “FIFA” during yesterday’s meeting, which was held through the “videoconference” technology, in order to solve the conflict in the dates of the African Nations Championships and the Club World Cup.

FIFA officials presented to their counterparts in Al-Ahly during this meeting, a solution to this crisis, which is to allow the Egyptian champion to send an open list in order to compensate players absent from the team in the African nations, a proposal that Al-Ahly rejected altogether and in detail, and club officials said: It is not logical for Al-Ahly to restrict a number of players. The officials of the International and African Federations promised to solve the crisis, in order to achieve equal opportunities between the clubs participating in the tournament.
