Dr. Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and AntiquitiesIn his office at the ministry’s headquarters in Zamalek, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his accompanying delegation, during their current visit to Egypt, to discuss strengthening aspects of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the field of antiquities and museums.
The meeting was attended from the Egyptian side by Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Yomna Al-Bahar, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Technical Affairs, and Minister Plenipotentiary Dalia Abdel-Fattah, General Supervisor of the General Administration of International Relations and Agreements at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
On the Saudi side, Ambassador Osama bin Ahmed Naqli, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Arab Republic of Egypt, General Supervisor of Cultural Affairs and International Relations Rakan Al-Touq, CEO of the Heritage Authority Dr. Jasser Al-Harbash, and Undersecretary for International Cultural Relations Eng. Fahd Al-Kanaan attended.
The meeting discussed ways of cooperation to exchange experiences between the two countries in the field of museology, preservation and restoration of antiquities and the development of archaeological sites and museums.
Dr. Khaled Al-Anani began the meeting by welcoming the Saudi Minister of Culture and his accompanying delegation, stressing the strong relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which witness cooperation in various fields, especially tourism and antiquities.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities also congratulated the Saudi minister on the Kingdom’s success in registering a number of Saudi heritage sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the most recent of which was the site of the Hama Cultural District in Najran last year 2021. During the meeting, the Saudi Minister of Culture congratulated Dr. Khaled Al-Anani on the Luxor celebration. Rams Road, praising the success of this celebration.
