American athletes can travel to the Olympics after they have already been vaccinated. Doctors recommend early vaccination with Aerosol

Several US states have already vaccinated everyone over the age of 16, and it will soon become a reality across the country. This means, among other things, security for American Olympians and Paralympics. If they are interested, they can actually travel to Tokyo to attend the postponed Summer Games, protected with the covid-19 vaccine. The US Olympic Committee encourages athletes to do so, but does not require it. Nevertheless, Americans prepare well for games in exceptional epidemiological conditions, and not just by vaccination.

She hasn’t seen any of her relatives live in over a year, and Katie Ledika, five-time Olympic champion and one of America’s greatest hopes for the Tokyo Olympics, confides during a briefing with reporters. Training in epidemic conditions and in the event of uncertainty brings new challenges for athletes. But Americans are at least sure that they can go to the Olympics already protected with a vaccine.

American athletes prepare for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo

“We are raising awareness among Olympic athletes and strongly encourage them to get vaccinated,” said Jonathan Vinoff, chief physician at the US Olympic Games. “But we do not require that nor keep a record of who is vaccinated and who is not vaccinated.” A committee.

“I recommend that athletes plan their second dose of the two-dose vaccine at a time when no major action awaits them next week. This is because of the side effects that appear more after the second dose and usually go away within two days.

“As for the general timing – I tell the athletes to get the vaccination as soon as possible. The data show that the effect of vaccines may be much longer than three months, and the last thing they need is to get sick before or during the Olympics,” Vinov adds.

Podle něj by během her v Tokiu měli dodržovat stejné pokyny očkovaní i neočkovaní olympionici a paralympionici.

Víc práce než obvykle mají i mentální kouči a psychologové. „Sportovci teď mnohem víc využívali představivost a vizualizace, aby si připomněli, jaké to je být sebou samými. Rok nemohli závodit, neměli přístup na sportoviště, museli nuceně improvizovat na dvorku v nafukovacích bazénech a podobně bláznivých náhražkách tělocvičen, bazénů a tratí,“ říká Sean McCann, hlavní sportovní psycholog amerického olympijského týmu.
