While both new consoles (Xbox and PlayStation) are expanding their playlists with gameplay improvements from previous generations, many fans of the latter are asking questions about improving a particular title over the past six months. Now they’re finally here and can replicate Ellie’s journey of revenge with a new quality: the main improvement is the ability to play at 60 frames per second, but of course the PS5 also benefits from a higher resolution or faster recording. 2021 has been an amazing year so far, with The Last of Us Part II winning over 300 Game of the Year awards, an unprecedented performance. We are very grateful to our community for your tremendous support over the past year, including your vote, which also won the BAFTA EE Game of the Year award or the “Best Game of the Year” Gold Joystick category. We’ve received tons of fan messages about how important this series is to you, and we were amazed by our excellent fan drawings, cosplay or tattoos that you shared with us.
One of the most popular requests from our community was to release a game performance patch on the PS5.
Well, that day has come and you can download the patch for free now!
Once the 1.08 patch is installed on the PS5, you will find settings in the display options that allow you to choose between a target fluency of 30fps or 60fps. You will be able to choose your preferred series to complement the rest of the improvements that PS5 backward compatibility provides for PS4 games, such as higher resolutions, faster recording times, etc.
Our team explored the possibilities and capabilities of the PS5 that have opened our doors since its release last year, and we’re excited about what the future holds. This correction is only the first step in our work with the PS5. We’ll let you know when we have more news to share.
