The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center signed, on Friday, a memorandum of cooperation with the China National Space Administration (CNSA) stipulating cooperation to carry out a joint future mission to explore the moon, in the presence of Zhang Yiming Gu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the country, and Yousef Hamad Al Shaibani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, where Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, and Wuyan Hua, Deputy Director of the China National Space Administration, signed the memorandum.
The memorandum stipulates the center’s cooperation with the Chinese Space Administration, whereby the Chinese lander will carry an Emirati vehicle belonging to the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center to the surface of the moon in the future. The memorandum marks the beginning of the first space cooperation project between China and the UAE, which lays the foundation for more opportunities for space cooperation between the two parties in the future.
On the other hand, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library received, on Friday, a delegation from the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, headed by Engineer Salem Al-Marri, Director General, to review its specialized and unique services that it provides to its visitors and what it contains of books and references specialized in the field of space, in addition to discussing ways to Strengthening joint cooperation to familiarize the younger generations with the historical achievements of the United Arab Emirates in this pioneering and vital sector.
The delegation was received by Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, and a number of officials and employees of the library. The state, including the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, which is leading historical achievements in the space sector.
Al Murr added, “The library reflects Dubai’s new cultural vision to enhance cultural mobility, in addition to its unlimited support for the new knowledge-based economy, whether directly or indirectly,” stressing the library’s keenness to conclude many local, regional and international strategic partnerships to expand the horizons of cultural and knowledge exchange, including It meets the aspirations of the state to build an Emirati knowledge society in which reading is an integral part of its components.
The delegation visited the photographic exhibition, which presents a unique photographic journey that narrates the renaissance of the UAE over the past fifty years, and the Library’s relics exhibition, which includes a unique collection of rare and ancient books, atlases and manuscripts, some of which date back to the thirteenth century AD.
For his part, Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, praised the library, its services, facilities and pioneering technologies, and how it provides a unique and wonderful experience for all members of society, including people of determination. At the end of the tour, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center presented the library with many valuable publications, including a Braille version for the blind, which sheds light on the Emirates Mars Exploration Project “Hope Probe”.
