Three years after filming began, Netflix released the first trailer for the movie Blonde, which revolves around the life of the late Marilyn Monroe.
In the teaser clip, actress Ana de Armas appears as she simulates the most famous moments in Marilyn Monroe’s life and career, such as the flying dress and the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, among others.
The film was written and directed by New Zealander Andrew Dominic, who was nominated for a Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, and described Blonde as a fictional version of Marilyn Monroe’s life, noting that every shot in the film is taken from the most famous images of the actress.
Ana de Armas spoke about her preparation for the role, saying: “I remembered hundreds of photographs, clips, recordings and films, and we were trying to study the details in each picture and wonder what was going on in each picture.”
Blonde will be released on Netflix on September 23.
