However, the service center that takes care of iPhone repairs definitely did not behave as the customer expected. It was a branch of the company Pegatron, which is one of the few Apple iPhone manufacturers and also takes care of some services. This was also the case at the Sacramento, California branch, where two Pegatron technicians scanned data on a smartphone while repairing a college student’s phone and did not keep it to themselves.
They found many sensitive photos and videos, and uploaded some photos and a video of her to her social network, Facebook. Apple investigated the incident, and the employees were fired. Although Pegatron technicians were responsible for the act, Apple paid several million dollars in compensation (the woman’s lawyer requested $5 million, but we don’t know the final figure). Pegatron wanted to pay the compensation from the insurance policy, but the insurance company refused to do so, so Apple paid him, Pegatron later paid the compensation to Apple and is now suing his insurance company.
Remember that Apple encrypts the data on its phones and protects access to it, so in order for service technicians to do some tasks with the phone, you need to tell them the password to unlock it or temporarily cancel it. Therefore, it is better, if in a particular case of the phone it is possible to service a phone that was previously backed up and deleted.
