Apple Wallet now lets users add a COVID-19 Vaccine Card

Apple now allows users to add their COVID-19 vaccination card to the Wallet app to easily access their vaccination guide.

Vaccination cards can be uploaded to the app via a QR code from a vaccination or testing provider for COVID-19, via a downloadable file with verified health records from a provider, or from a verifiable vaccination program found in the Health app, according to the company .

Apple also announced that with the iOS 15 update, users can store verifiable versions of their COVID-19 vaccine and records of test results in the company’s Health app on their iPhone and iPod Touch.

Vaccine records and test results are uploaded in a verifiable format and digitally signed by the vaccine or test provider, depending on the company.

Apple said the program is “akin to submitting paper documents with an official seal.”
