The famous “Maracana” stadium in Rio de Janeiro will host Brazil and Argentina in the 2021 Copa America final, scheduled for the second time at dawn on Sunday, to bring the curtain down on the continental championship that started on June 13.
The match represents a special challenge between Tite, the coach of the Brazilian national team, and his counterpart, Lionel Scaloni, in the Argentine national team.
The official website of the Copa America reviewed the most prominent numbers of coaches with the national teams of their countries, before the final match.
Titi
The former coach of Corinthians, Gremio and Inter Milan, he coached the Brazilian national team five years ago:
He played 60 matches
He won 45 matches
Drawn in 11 matches
Only lost 4 matches
Tite won the only title with the Brazilian national team, which is winning the 2019 Copa America, which was held in the country of samba, after winning the final match against Peru by five.
Brazil currently enjoys with Tite a series of 13 matches without a loss (12 wins and a draw), and the samba team has not lost since November 2019, when it fell to Argentina with a goal, in a friendly match in Saudi Arabia.
In his second participation in the Copa America, Tite has not lost so far. In total, he played 12 matches, including 9 victories and one draw.
Lionel Scaloni
He coached the Argentine national team nearly 3 years ago, after being an assistant to former coach Jorge Sampaoli at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Scaloni conducted the long-awaited “renovation” of the Tango team and his numbers support him.
– Played 33 matches
– 19 wins
Drawn in 10 matches
Lost 4 matches
Scaloni currently has with the Argentina national team a streak of 19 unbeaten matches (11 wins and 8 draws), which is the second longest unbeaten streak in the history of the Argentine national team.
The last defeat of the Argentine national team came in the semi-finals of the 2019 Copa America, against the host Brazil, with a score of 2-0.
Like Tite, Scaloni is playing his second Copa America tournament, and has played 12 matches in the tournament so far: 7 wins, 3 draws and 2.
