And the former Grand Mufti of Egypt added that our master, the Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade us from arguing and arguing without knowledge. because there is a kind of slander in it, and there is a kind of lying, and there is a kind of ignorance; On the authority of Ka’b bin Malik, may God Almighty be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever seeks knowledge to compete with the scholars, or to argue with the foolish, or to turn people’s faces towards him.” God made him enter the Fire.” (Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi).

Ruling on seeking knowledge to be called a scholar

A member of the Council of Senior Scholars of Al-Azhar confirmed that this is a hadith of the utmost strength: “Whoever seeks knowledge in order to compete with the scholars,” meaning that he does not want knowledge for the benefit of humanity, the building of the earth, and the correction of the worship of God, but rather he wants to be said about him that he is a scholar until he quarrels with others. Scientists, even if he sits in the councils, he is turned to, so where is the sincerity? Where is the intention? Where is the sincerity of intention to God Almighty? There is no sincerity, no sincerity, and no sincere intention, so this is his fate to hell.

There is a difference between arguing and arguing and debating

And the head of the Religious Committee in the House of Representatives explained that there is a hadith narrated by Abu Umamah Al-Bahili, may God Almighty be pleased with him, on the authority of our master, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he said: “No people have gone astray after the guidance they used to follow except that they were given argument.” Then the Messenger of God – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – recited this verse: “They did not strike you at you except by argument, rather they are a contentious people” (Sunan Al-Tirmidhi) they want to quarrel, argue, and dispute, and do not want to reach the truth that is with God, so there is a difference between Dispute, controversy and discussion ; The discussion must be based on knowledge, secondly: it seeks to reach the truth, thirdly: it wants clarity, not showing off, not having reputation, but rather seeking benefit.

On the authority of Anas bin Malik, may God Almighty be pleased with him, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever abandons lying while he is false, a garden will be built for him in the hills of Paradise, and whoever gives up argument while he is right, a garden will be built for him in He spreads it, and whoever improves his morals, he builds for him on top of it.” (Tirmidhi).
