Investing.com – United Kingdom stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday.
By London’s close, it was up 0.16%.
The stock emerged today among the leading stocks Bp PLC (LON: ), which was up 2.30% or 11.40 points to end at 507.80. On the other hand, International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (LON:) added 2.19% or 3.00 points to end at 140.24 while BHP Group PLC (LON:) was up 2.08% or 49.00 points to 2,410.50.
The worst performers of the day’s trade were Tui AG (LON: ), which declined 4.14% or 30.29 points to trade at 702.00 at the close. Arrow Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON: ) traded down 2.61% or 20.60 points to 767.80. Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON: ) declined 1.83% or 21.50 points to end at 1,152.00.
Decliners outnumbered advancers with 1105 compared to 708 on the London Stock Exchange, while 463 were unchanged.
Shares of Tui AG (LON: ) traded down 4.14% or 30.29 points to trade at 702.00 at the low.
Gold futures for June delivery rose 0.86%, or 16.95%, to settle at $1,988.45 an ounce. In other commodities, WTI crude oil futures for May delivery rose 1.32% or 0.96 points to settle at $73.77 a barrel.For the June contract Brent oil futures were up 1.04% or 0.81 points. and closed at $78.57 per barrel.
The GBP/USD pair added 0.46% to trade at 1.23 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair was unchanged 0.04% to reach 0.88 levels.
Dollar index futures were down 0.39% to trade at 102.12.
