It is no coincidence that Sultan Al Neyadi was chosen to participate in the first long-term mission aboard the International Space Station, to be a model for Arab youth, and to carry their ambition to record a new achievement for Arabs. Sultan Al Neyadi will join the American Space Agency mission that aims to conduct a series of experiments and research on outer space. An Arab arrives at the international station nearly three years ago.

During the last decade, the space sector has become for the UAE a vital area to invest in, and what is expected is the future that meets the ambitions of the leadership, which has given special importance to the preparation, rehabilitation and development of young cadres. Which provides important scientific contributions to the atmosphere of Mars and at different times.

The UAE has thus become one of the nine countries working to explore this planet. Despite the recent emergence of this sector in the UAE, our country currently enjoys the confidence of countries already working in this field, and has been the focus of wide international praise in appreciation of its efforts and the succession of its achievements, especially since space exploration has become part of the vision and strategy of the Emirates and what contributes to achieving sustainable development that it adopts, For it, several pioneering initiatives were launched with the aim of continuing the achievements in various fields over the next fifty years.

The UAE, with its renewed determination and ambitions, is in a race against time, in light of the belief of its leadership that investing in space is the future of humanity, and therefore it is moving forward at a steady pace to achieve important successes in this endeavour. I do not exaggerate by saying that the launch of the UAE Space Agency’s national policy for the space sector in the country constitutes a milestone step with the aim of achieving the vision of the state, by building a well-established and sustainable Emirati sector closely related to space technology, provided that this sector supports and protects national interests and vital sectors, and also contributes To diversify and grow the economy, enhance specialized Emirati competencies, develop high scientific and technical capabilities, establish a culture of innovation, and consolidate the role and position of the UAE regionally and globally.

In order to give credit to his family, we say and affirm that all these achievements would not have been achieved without the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the State, and His Deputy, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.

Knowing that the scale of the challenges is great, they have a window of insight to seize the great opportunities. Their Highnesses focused on supporting the National Space Program to contribute to the realization of a great scientific renaissance at the Arab and international levels, and on supporting the young group capable of excellence in light of the availability of the required capabilities.

Their Highness’s reception of Al-Niyadi comes as a message to all the young men and women of the Emirates, which is nothing but an affirmation from the leadership of supporting the young generation academically and professionally, especially the distinguished among them, in various fields. All of this and others lead me to thank the men of the UAE who are making exceptional efforts to overcome difficulties in front of the youth in order to raise the ceiling of their ambitions to be able to participate in the development process and build a strong economy based on science and knowledge.
