Bayern Munich insists on its position: Lewandowski will not leave this summer | Football

Bayern Munich insists that its Polish striker Robert Lewandowski will remain with the team next season.

The Bavarians ignore the messages sent by the player and the optimism in Barcelona about winning his signature.

Uli Hoeness, the former player and former president of the Bavarian club, said the team “relies on Lewandowski”.

He continued, “There are deals and a new face for the team next season, and if everything that was presented to me last week succeeds, we will have a strong and competitive team with Lewandowski.”

In the same vein, he sent a letter to Barcelona and the player’s agent, Pini Zahavi.

“Things didn’t go the way Lewandowski and his agent wanted, that’s why they are angry,” Hoeness said.

Lewandowski’s contract with Bayern expires next year, and this will be the club’s last chance to take advantage of it, however Hoeness is in favor of keeping the Pole.

“If you don’t have a replacement that you think can replace him to a certain extent – which seems difficult at the moment – I would recommend that they keep him for another year, after which we will see if he leaves for free or renews,” Hoeness said.

And the German newspaper “Bild” reported that Barcelona’s new offer to sign the 33-year-old striker, the top scorer in the German League (Bundesliga), will be presented before the end of this week.

It was reported that Barca’s first offer amounted to nearly 32 million euros, and the Bavarian team saw it as an inappropriate offer, but Barcelona has financial restrictions due to the large debts of the club.

Lewandowski has a contract with Bayern that extends to 2023, and he asked to be allowed to leave during the current summer transfer period, which the Bavarian club’s management faced with refusal.

Bayern’s top scorer spoke – in a previous press interview – about his current situation, and said, “Something has died inside of me, I am leaving because I am looking to try new feelings in my life, after all these years I have always been available to play despite injuries and pain, I think it is better to find a good solution for both of them.” “Both parties, we shouldn’t have to make a unilateral decision, that doesn’t make sense after all this time.”
