Al-Hajj continued: “The International Atomic Energy Agency (Africa Sector) holds this scientific conference at the level of Africa every two years in one of the African countries that are members of the International Atomic Energy Agency. This conference is part of the Afra project program on operational safety and the peaceful uses of nuclear research reactors. It has It was requested to host the tenth African conference in Egypt this year, as the date of this conference coincides with the Atomic Energy Authority’s celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment and safe operation of Egypt’s second research reactor for its peaceful uses in the production of radioactive isotopes and the building of scientific cadres capable of dealing with nuclear technology. This also reflects Egypt’s international standing in this field.

Dr. Hedaya Ahmed Kamel, Vice President of the Commission for Training and International Cooperation, said that 70 scientists from 15 African countries, namely Algeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, will participate in this conference. South Africa, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Zambia, a large African gathering to support international cooperation between African countries.
