Today, the Heritage Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with Elm, a leading digital solutions company, for joint cooperation in a number of areas related to technical protection (through the use of digital systems and technical programs) for heritage sites, smart operation of cultural heritage sites in the Kingdom and enhancing the visitor experience.
The memorandum of understanding was signed at the authority’s headquarters in the King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh, CEO Dr. Jasser Al-Harbash, and CEO of Alam Company, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Jadhai.
The agreement included conducting consultative studies to study the current status of the protection of antiquities and urban heritage of archaeological and heritage sites in the Kingdom, as well as measuring the level of awareness of local communities about the importance of preserving heritage, as well as studying global methods for managing and operating cultural heritage sites, which enhances the visitor’s experience and makes him enjoy the best services through managing Operating and activating archaeological and heritage sites and visitor centers, and providing requirements that contribute to raising the readiness of cultural sites.
The memorandum of understanding also includes the cooperation of Elm Company with the authority in implementing the system of antiquities, museums and urban heritage issued by Royal Decree No. (M/3) on 9/1/1436 AH.
The agreement comes in light of the Heritage Authority’s keenness to protect, manage and sustainably develop the components of cultural heritage in the Kingdom, and to encourage the production and development of cultural heritage content, through partnerships with government and private sector organizations. To harness the capabilities in order to provide the best means, methods and technology to serve the national heritage, enhance the experiences of those interested in the Kingdom’s heritage, and highlight the Kingdom’s historical and civilizational heritage locally and internationally.
It is noteworthy that “Elm” is one of the leading companies that have distinguished relations with various government and private sectors in the Kingdom, by providing a number of innovative services and solutions, in order to achieve the aspirations of customers. It also takes upon itself to contribute to building national expertise, and localizing information technology in accordance with the Kingdom’s vision 2030. .
