DEWA cooperates with France’s Eutelsat in space

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the French global satellite operator Eutelsat to provide technical support for the authority’s space program “Space D” and the authority’s U3-type nano-satellite (DEWASat1), which allows the development of transmitters. The cooperation also aims to explore the prospects for integrating Eutelsat low Earth orbit (ELO) satellites with the SpaceD program and expanding the nano-satellites fleet for both parties, in addition to designing, developing and implementing the first use case in the Authority’s Research and Development Center that combines Using “Internet of Things” sensors and the “Eutelsat” low-earth orbit satellite project, in addition to developing use cases that contribute to the advancement of the service sector sector around the world.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, indicated that the Authority’s Space D program has contributed, since it was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in January 2021.
