The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), in partnership with the Bvlgari Group, the leading Italian brand in the world of jewelry and luxury, is organizing an exhibition for the artists participating in the first edition of the Bvlgari Prize for Contemporary Art, from 3 to 8 February 2022 at the exhibition “Bvlgari Prize for Contemporary Art”. In December of last year, Dubai Culture selected 17 Emirati artists residing in the UAE, as part of its talent bank base, to compete for the award in its inaugural edition. They are: Abdul Rahim Salem, Aisha Al Ali, Alia Lootah, Chi Nakano, Farid Al Rais. Ioannis Kadras, Jassem Al-Awadi, Juma Al-Hajj, Kamal Al-Zoabi, Madar Al-Suwaidi, Magda Malkoun, Nima Nbafi, Niveen Majid, Saeed Al-Madani, Shamsa Juma, Tala Worrell, Valerie Vincent.
The Bulgari Prize for Contemporary Art had asked the group of selected artists to submit works on the subject of the prize; It is “Beauty brings people together”, by creatively expressing how people communicate aesthetically, and highlighting the dialogue that brings together cities such as Dubai and Rome, through the artistic and creative heritage that inspires the two cities.
