The exhibition “In the Shadow of Ghaf”, organized by Ghaf Publications at the Al Safa Art and Design Library in Dubai, celebrates a collection of distinctive artworks by a number of Emirati artists and photographers residing in the country.
The exhibition, which was inaugurated by the Executive Director of the Arts and Literature Sector at the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority “Dubai Culture”, Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, will receive visitors until the second of next June. The opening ceremony of the exhibition was also attended by Bodour Al-Bdour, Afra Mahmoud and Amira Boukdra, founders of Ghaf Publications, in addition to participating artists and photographers.
During the opening, Saeed bin Kharbash praised this initiative from Ghaf publications, stressing the keenness of Dubai Culture to support such events whose goals coincide with the authority’s mission to support local talent and provide culture everywhere and for everyone, by making its cultural assets and public libraries available to embrace them. , especially Al Safa Art and Design Library, which is an inspiring platform to celebrate all kinds of arts and cultural creations.
He praised the quality of the displayed works, calling on all those interested and amateurs of visual arts to visit the exhibition, to learn about the creativity of the participating artists and photographers and to taste their innovative arts.
“In the Shadow of Ghaf” highlights a group of artworks ranging from plastic art to photography, created by a group of artists who participated in the “Artist of the Month” initiative launched by Ghaf Publications last year (their first year).
It is noteworthy that Ghaf is an electronic library and publishing house whose team works to publish selected books that enrich Arab thought, and republish the forgotten cultural stock to revive it, and aims to equitably distribute books and make them accessible.

The group of artists participating in the exhibition “In the Shadow of a Ghaf” includes plastic artists: Magdy Al-Kafrawi, Salma Al-Marri, and Faryal Al-Bastaki, in addition to photographer Amal Murad, photographer Youssef Al Qasimi and photographer Faisal Al Rayes, who specialize in the art of photography.
