The National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research revealed the date of the Shawwal crescent moon survey, and the astronomical date of Eid Al-Fitr.
Jad Al-Qadi, head of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, explained that, according to the astronomical calculations of the Sun Research Laboratory at the institute, the crescent of the month of Shawwal will be born immediately after the conjunction occurs at exactly six o’clock and 14 minutes in the morning, Cairo local time, on Thursday, Ramadan 29 1444 AH, corresponding to 4/20/2023 AD. Vision Day.
Al-Qadi added that the new crescent will remain in the sky of Makkah Al-Mukarramah for a period of 23 minutes, and in Cairo for a period of 27 minutes after sunset on that day, “the day of vision.” And in the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the new crescent will remain in its sky for periods ranging from (24-29 minutes). In Arab and Islamic capitals and cities, the new crescent will remain after sunset on that day for periods ranging from (10-35 minutes).
The date of Eid al-Fitr
And the head of the National Institute for Astronomical Research continued that the start of the month of Shawwal 1444 AH astronomically, will be on Friday 4/21/2023 AD.
The blessed Eid Al-Fitr will be astronomically on Friday, April 21, 2023 AD, and its prayer will be at 5:47 am in Cairo.
Thus, the astronomical month of Ramadan this year will be 29 days, to end on April 20, 2023.
Employee leave during Eid Al-Fitr
Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, announced the Eid al-Fitr holiday from Thursday, April 20, to Tuesday, April 25, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and the Sinai Liberation Day.
The Council of Ministers confirmed in a statement that the leave will be paid for workers in ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies.
