The 53-year-old actress wrote, “I am forever grateful and happy for the love and support you all have shown me, for Meredith Gray and for the show for 19 seasons!”

She said that the making of “Grey’s Anatomy” would never have been possible without “the best fans in the world.”

Pompeo also hinted that viewers might see Meredith Gray again in the future. saying that she would “definitely come back to visit Grey’s Anatomy”.

In August, the news of her departure from the TV series was announced. She reportedly “left production to pursue other opportunities,” including the Hulu limited series derived from the 2009 psychological thriller “Orphan.”
