DUBAI, 23rd June / WAM/ 2036 participants participated in the “Olympic Day” activities organized by the National Olympic Committee in cooperation with the Dubai Police General Command represented by the Dubai Police Officers Club, which hosted the event this Thursday evening, amid an intense presence from all segments of society and from different Nationalities who participated in many sports activities, coinciding with the event celebrated by all Olympic committees around the world, which was held this year under the slogan “Sports for Peace”.

Many public and sports authorities in the country, partners of the National Olympic Committee, led by sports councils, a number of sports federations, the National Paralympic Committee, as well as Dubai Police cavalry teams and musical teams, participated in the activities of the Olympic Day. Fencing, badminton, karate, volleyball, cycling, cricket and a marathon for running. A group of people of determination also participated in the event.

His Excellency Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, expressed his pride and happiness in hosting the Olympic Day activities at the Dubai Police Officers Club, praising the efforts of the National Olympic Committee headed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He stressed the Dubai Police’s keenness to promote and support the government’s trends in the field of sports in the form of initiatives and events full of participants and sports lovers of all groups, ages and cultures in society.

He said, “The Dubai Police’s continuous support for all sports activities, teams and teams, based on the belief in the importance of this field in consolidating a culture of tolerance, coexistence and dialogue among members of society of different cultures.”
