DUBAI, 16th December, 2020 (WAM) — The English team, Liverpool, defeated the Italian team, AC Milan, 4-1, today, Friday, at the end of the 2022 Dubai Super Cup.
The match was attended by a huge crowd in the stands of Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Nasr Club, where the number of attendees reached 15,000 spectators in the match that was moderated by an Emirati arbitration crew led by Omar Al Ali and his assistants Masoud Hassan and Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi.
Arsenal, England, had won the championship title in its favor by defeating Lyon 3-0 and Milan 2-1 in its two matches.
The Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, advanced to Liverpool (5), and the Belgian Alexis Salimicris, the Milan star, equalized (29), and the Spaniard, Thiago Alcantara, made progress again for Liverpool (41), and substitute Darwin Nunez increased the difference in favor of Liverpool by scoring the third and fourth goals (82 and 88).
With this victory, Liverpool achieved its first victory in its second and final match, after losing its first match against Olympique Lyonnais, France, 1-3, while Milan suffered its second loss, after losing its first match also from Arsenal, England, 1-2.
The match was dominated by the serious nature of the performance of the two teams, especially in light of the keenness of the coaches, Jurgen Klopp in Liverpool and Stefano Pioli in Milan, to put the best formation for their teams at the end of the tournament in order to prepare for the return of official matches after the end of the World Cup.
In the penalty shootout that takes place after the end of each match, according to the tournament regulations, Milan managed to get its first point in the tournament, after winning 4-3.
