Sharjah, November 13 / WAM / The Sharjah Club won the Emirates Open Karate Championship (Kata), which was hosted by the club’s gymnasium, with a wide participation of 298 male and female players representing 12 clubs in the country.

The Sharjah Club champions succeeded in sitting on the throne of the championship for the buds and cubs categories, as the champions won 19 various medals in the two categories, including 13 gold, 3 silver and bronze medals.

The buds category (boys and girls) alone managed to win 11 gold and one silver, while the cubs (A and B) category won 8 medals, including two gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

Eng. Suleiman Abdul Rahman Al-Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Games, congratulated the team on this achievement, and pointed out that the gains made from this tournament are great, especially since the tournament is dedicated to smaller groups, pointing out that the club’s players showed a great challenge during the competitions amidst this large number of players and clubs. Participation in the tournament.

Al-Hajri explained that the club aims to be the first in all its participations, and this tournament is a good start for future generations in karate, pointing out that the tournament has produced a number of promising players and talents that will have a great future in this game.

He extended his thanks and appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for its continuous support and interest in everything related to individual games and the ambitious plans adopted by the Council to promote and develop them to go beyond the limits of local and external competition to raise the flag of the UAE.
