Emirati astronauts visit the Air Force and Air Defense Institute

A delegation from the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center, including Hazza Al Mansouri, Sultan Al Neyadi, Noura Al Matrooshi, and Mohammed Al Mulla, Emirati astronauts, visited the Institute of Air Force and Air Defense.

Brigadier General Dr. Muhammad Jassim Al-Marzouqi, Commander of the Institute, welcomed the visiting team and praised their great role in scientific research and space exploration, which benefits humanity and the world at large.

He said: The UAE, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and with the follow-up and support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has become a source of pride and pride in consolidating her position in space exploration and its sciences.

During the visit, the center’s team presented introductory lectures to the course participants, which included highlighting their practical experiences before and during the last flight, and the conditions for selecting astronauts, with the aim of encouraging officers to join this ambitious project.

He praised the astronauts and expressed his feeling of pride that Hazza Al Mansouri, one of the institute’s graduates and members of the Air Force and Air Defense, is the first Emirati astronaut.

The pioneers emphasized that the UAE focused in its space program on preparing qualified and trained national cadres, because its goal is to actively participate in space exploration and to engage in real science and knowledge, as it is part of its quest to achieve sustainable development and build a knowledge-based economy.
