feelings in the network. Focus Vysočina again organizes Mental Health Weeks in September – Vysoč

On September 9, another part of the Mental Health Weeks will be held at Havlíčkův Brod. The famous educational event is organized by Fokus Vysočina every year, and this year it will move from the square to Budoucnost Park. The event, which has a long tradition in Havlíčkův Brod, wants to bring the issue of mental illness and health closer to the general public.

According to available statistics, one in five people in the Czech Republic suffers from mental illness. This is an alarming number. “We support people not to be afraid to talk about their mental health, not to be afraid to ask for help, and to know where they can find it,” says Jan Mica, head of the Havlíčkův Brod Fokus Vysočina Center.
Removing the stigma of mental illness is one of the main goals of the awareness event Emotions in the Network, which Focus is preparing at Havlichkopf Brod as part of Mental Health Weeks.
“This is a traditional nationwide event, the aim of which is to draw public attention to the issue of mental illness and psychiatric care in the Czech Republic through a cultural, professional and at the same time interesting program. We want to combine relevant topics, personal experiences, possible ways to prevent mental illness and the activities of organizations working in the social and health field”, continues Jan Mika.
Visitors can also look forward to an interesting program at Budoucnost Park on Havlíčkův Brod this year. “We have prepared a diverse program full of interactive workshops and lectures in the context of sentiment and online space. Currently the online space is a very recent topic, so we decided to focus more on it. But there will also be a musical show. We target all age groups, so whether you leave school, Or from work or nearby, stop by the park, we’ll be there,” explains Martin Vot, a social worker at Fokus Vysočina.
“We hope that in September the epidemiological situation will be favorable so that we can organize the event in the classic form of meeting live people. If this is not the case, we will transfer it to an online space, so we will achieve the main motto, that is, the emotions captured in the network, ”concludes Martin Lukács , Head of the Havlíčkův Brod Center for Mental Health.
