Al-Ahly tied with Talaa Al-Jaish with one goal for each team in the friendly match that brought them together this evening – Saturday – at the Military Sports Authority Stadium.
This comes as Al-Ahly prepares to face Moroccan Raja in the African Super Cup match that will be held in Qatar on December 22nd.
Tala’a El-Jaish advanced through Khaled Hashadi in the 33rd minute, while Rami Rabia tied in the 51st minute.
Al-Ahly placed in the middle of the Al-Tala’a stadium, where he was close to scoring in the first 5 minutes when Percy Tao set the ball for Aliu Diang on the edge of the penalty area, to hit the latter, but the ball hit the defense.
Al-Ahly had a sure chance in the middle of the half after Tao’s pass to Louis Miccione, who scored a single shot, which was blocked by goalkeeper Mohamed Bassam.
Al-Ahly demanded a penalty kick after the ball touched the hand of the Al-Tala’i player inside the penalty area in the 45th minute, but the referee Ahmed Al-Ghandour demanded to continue playing.
Al-Ahly coach Pitso Musimani made several changes during the second half to prepare the largest number of players, as he pushed Mahmoud Metwally, Walid Suleiman, Mahmoud Kahraba, Hossam Hassan, Mustafa Schubert, Ziad Tariq, Mohamed Mahmoud and Mohamed Khalifa Nasir.
Percy Tau went out of the match, but his substitution was normal, and the South African player did not suffer from any injury.
Taher Mohamed Taher was injured in the 62nd minute, as he left the match stadium, and Mahmoud Metwally left the match stadium injured.
Al-Ahly almost scored the winning goal in the 88th minute with a shot from Mahmoud Kahraba, which was blocked by Mohamed Bassam, to bounce back to Walid Suleiman, who paid but was pushed away by the defense, so the match ended in a tie between the two teams.
