Fish oil contains many vitamins and protects against many diseases. It is a treasure trove of benefits.

And Dr. Yekaterina Mikhailenko, a Russian nutritionist, revealed that fish oil is beneficial for the eyes and enhances the body’s immune system.

She pointed to the changes that occur in the body as a result of taking fish oil, which is rich in vitamin A and vitamin D, as well as omega-3 fatty acids.

“Vitamin A is necessary for the freshness of the skin, enhances the immune system and eye health. Vitamin D deficiency leads to a disturbance in the metabolism of potassium and phosphorous in the bones, which leads to osteoporosis,” she says.

According to her, the best sources of fish oil are herring, halibut, mackerel, salmon, tuna and cod.

She says, “The amount of vitamin A and D in cod liver oil is very high, in addition to this, this oil contains potassium, magnesium and phosphorous. But given that it contains high calories, it is advised not to overeat,” according to what Russia Today reported.

What is fish oil?

Fish oil is a type of natural oil with multiple health benefits that is extracted from the tissues of fatty fish, such as herring, tuna, anchovies, mackerel, sardines, and salmon. Sometimes it may be extracted from the livers of other fish, as is the case with cod liver oil.

Fish oil pills are one of the most common nutritional supplements because they are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that are important for the health of the body. The World Health Organization recommends eating 1-2 servings of fish every week in order to get the omega-3 fatty acids available in fish. But if a person is not able to get this recommended amount of fish per week, then taking fish oil pills can help a person get enough omega-3.
