Coda / Prague Information about cooperation with the US promise to the NSA indicates a possible link to the arms deal as of 2015, when the Czech Republic decided to purchase new tapes.
Years ago, the fear of eavesdropping on European politics by the US National Security Agency (NSA) opened the door between Washington and its main allies in Europe. The target of the observation point was, for example, the mobile phone of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
New details have now emerged indicating that the viewership of the officially shared network was much greater than originally thought. Today American correspondents were supposed to help fellow FE military intelligence. Thanks to them obtained by the National Security Agency, became a standstill under the US Department of Defense, and the ability to use the secret listening station Sandagergardan near Copenhagen.
The Americans had access to a major internet node, with many submarine data cables intercepting communications across Europe. The main role is played by the Xkeyscore computer program, which can monitor the data flow according to the keywords.
On Monday, Czech Defense Minister Tren Pramsinov declared that the systematic interception of close allies was unacceptable.
In addition to Merkel, the then NSA secretary included President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs and Associations. Politicians from Norway, the widow, France, or the Netherlands have also been watched. The governments of Germany and Norway called on representatives of the Czech Republic to comment on and explain the facts. The German cabinet’s speech was limited to stating that Berlin had taken note of the new information.
Pune against home?
For the first time, several European media outlets reported the latest developments in the pioneer issue over the weekend, including public service broadcasters from Germany and Germany and the German newspaper Sddeutsche Zeitung.
Fits facts so far known about the NSA activist, who revealed them in 2013, was former CIA employee Edward Snowden. The knowledge that Czech intelligence was cooperating with the National Security Agency is not new. Among other things, he wrote about joint tracking activists on an internal program in the first year of 2015.
New facts come from several informants within the intelligence services. According to them, in the filters, the NSA included, among other things, salt from the Ministries of State and Finance. This means that today’s ministry helped move her land.
One explanation lies in the fact that the NSA wanted information about the relevant meeting of the Copenhagen government on the purchase of new fighters in 2015. At that time, it was decided between the offers of American manufacturers (Boeing and Lockheed Martin) and a difficult concern. The government eventually ordered 27 F-35s from Lockheed Martin.
