The match between Al-Ahly of Egypt and Wydad of Morocco in the final of the African Champions League sparked a strong crisis in the studio of the Qatari “BN Sports” channels.

face Al-Ahly of Egypt his counterpart Moroccan WydadOn Monday, at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, in the final match of CAF Champions League 2022.

Qatar’s “BN Sports” channels held an analytical studio for the match, as it will broadcast the match’s activities exclusively in the Middle East and North Africa, in the presence of the Egyptian Wael Gomaa, the Moroccan Youssef Shaibo and the Tunisian Tariq Diab.

Studio members commented on the crisis that arose before the match between Al-Ahly and Al-Wadden regarding the number of Al-Ahly fans allowed to attend Mohammed V Stadium.

Al-Ahly had announced earlier that he had obtained only 2,500 tickets to attend the final match of the African Champions League out of 10,000 allocated to him, while the vicinity of Mohammed V Stadium witnessed a state of tension before the start of the match.

Wael Gomaa commented on this matter by emphasizing that Al-Ahly was subjected to injustice by the Confederation of African Football, especially since the match is supposed to be on a neutral stadium.

And the former Egypt national team manager said: “I demand the right of Al-Ahly. This final is supposed to be neutral, as it is not a match between two rounds, back and forth.”

He added, “It was assumed that the stadium tickets would be shared in half between Al-Ahly and Wydad fans, but this did not happen, so that Al-Ahly only obtained 2,500 tickets out of 10 thousand.”

Wael Gomaa’s comments were rejected by Moroccan Youssef Chibo, who confirmed that Al-Ahly was not subjected to injustice, claiming that its fans did not complete their seats.

Al-Ahly’s former football director responded to Shibo’s statements, saying that Al-Ahly is supposed to get his full tickets, even if one fan attended, because he is able to play the role of 100,000 fans.

This state of controversy caused an atmosphere of tension in the BN Sports studio, and Tunisian Tarek Diab tried to ease it and move on to talking about technical matters.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time that the beIN Sports studios witnessed a state of tension in the African finals, as the matter was repeated in the 2017 African Champions League final between Al-Ahly and Wydad, and the 2019 final between Al-Ahly and Al-Taraji, in the presence of Wael Gomaa as well.
