The diplomatic advisor to the President of the UAE, Anwar Gargash, launched a scathing attack on the former Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani, after he spoke about Israel and an “Arab state” standing behind the events in Sudan.

Gargash said via “Twitter” on Friday evening, without mentioning bin Jassim’s name: “I took pity on his situation when reading his tweet, as he is nothing more than a searcher for a role after he lost his position and became a voice from the past associated with sedition and conspiracies.”

Gargash added: “His career is a strange mixture of contradictions, and despite all the prestige and money, wisdom is absent from him, and his speech remains just an echo of a barely audible voice.”

This comes in the context of a tweet previously published by Bin Jassim, in which he said: “What happened and is happening in Sudan is only one of the first results of planning, coordination and cooperation between Israel and an Arab country, unfortunately, knowing that that country was promoting in Western forums that it changed its policy and started to care now. Only in economics and development.

These statements come after Qatar on the one hand, and the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt on the other hand, on January 5, 2021, reached an agreement in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia, that ended the Gulf crisis that erupted in the summer of 2017.
