Global Village and “Bloom World” launch the “Young Directors Award”

Yesterday, Global Village announced the launch of the “Young Directors Award” to celebrate the “Month of Creators”, in cooperation with the Bloom World Academy, as the competition offers an opportunity for two of its participants to win a full scholarship worth more than one million dirhams during their studies at the Academy. The Global Village invited the country’s students, between the ages of 5 and 14, to show their skills in filmmaking by participating in the competition, which is held under the slogan “My Most Wonderful World”. Participants in the competition must make a short film or video clip that tells their story or the story of someone they know and how they are making the world a better place for everyone, or sheds light on their current contributions to building a promising and brighter future. The hero of the film can be any participant, such as a friend, or A teacher, family member, or someone in the community who has made a positive impact or constructive contribution, big or small, to making the world more wonderful. Jackie Ellenby, Executive Director of Marketing at Global Village, said: “Since January is the month of global creativity, we decided to celebrate the talented students in the Emirates and Bloom World Academy is the perfect partner to launch the first edition of the “Creative Month” event, and we are excited to see the creativity of the students participating in the competition. Competition”. She explained that the competition is divided into two categories, for primary students between the ages of 5-10 years, and for secondary students between the ages of 11-14 years. The competition will be judged by a committee that includes Saeed Al Janahi, Executive Director of Operations at the Dubai TV and Film Production Committee, John Peel, Director of Bloom World Academy, Naila Osha, actress and presenter of “The Big Breakfast” program on Hit 96.7 radio station, and Emirati director Nahla Al Fahad. and Helen Farmer, presenter at Dubai Eye radio station.
She added that the committee will review all entries to select the winners, and will invite the finalists to attend the premiere of their films, at the “Young Theater” in front of thousands of guests of the Global Village, where one winner will be announced from each age group to be crowned with the Young Directors Award. Which includes scholarships at the Bloom World Academy, worth more than one million dirhams.
