In the afternoon of December 24, 2001, when I was working at the time for the Kurdish newspaper “Brighty” published in the city of Erbil, the editor in chief called me and gave me a group of Arab newspapers that, as far as I remember, was Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Al-Hayat and Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, with a cassette recorded by the newspaper’s monitoring from some Arab radio stations. And he asked me to write an article about the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s going to Bethlehem on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ. The late Ariel Sharon was the Prime Minister of Israel. He refused Arafat’s coming to Bethlehem. I remember very well that the European Union and the Pope mediated with Sharon to allow For Arafat to visit Bethlehem.

Less than an hour later, I wrote an article entitled “The scepter of the Pope and the efforts of the European Union will not take Arafat to Bethlehem.” When I took the article to the editor-in-chief to review it, I returned to my room, but it was only a short time before the editor-in-chief summoned me, but when I entered, “Abdul Salam Barwari” confronted me. Who was at that time the head of the institution of the Kurdish-speaking and Arabic-speaking Braiti newspaper, and confronted me with nervousness and emotion, saying: Are you smarter than the Arab newspapers and radio stations that assert that Arafat will go to Bethlehem and that Sharon will submit to the mediation of the Pope and the European Union? He was waving the paper on which the article was written while underestimating it. And I answered him very coldly: I do not claim to be intelligent, but I am confident of my point of view and insist on it!

My shift ended at eight o’clock in the evening, and my article aroused a controversy and after receiving a response, Abdul Salam Barwari decided at the last moment to agree to its publication, and the morning of December 25, 2001 came, and the celebrations took place in Bethlehem without Arafat!

Two days ago, when I wrote the article “The destruction of Tel Aviv and the demise of Israel”, and I was surprised by an indirect response from a man for whom I had a lot of respect and appreciation for many reasons, the response was in a cynical, belittling manner. From two lines, and not more, when he said: “Those who go too far in their “treachery” and use a proverb that they consider “Kurdish.” It is a general proverb among most of the peoples of the earth and its inhabitants. “..an indication of his inability to throw it!!.” You said that the proverb you cited is a proverb for most of the peoples of the earth, then you went back and contradicted yourself that the truth is that the proverb is Arabic! How can you allow yourself what you prevented from me? Or do you despise the Kurdish nation to be such a person? Noting that I had asked about this proverb more than one source before writing it, including the poet Goran Meriwani and Dr. Rebwar Fattah.

As for his saying that “the right of former Iranian President Ahmadinejad is not to throw stones, but rather bombs, artillery shells… and missiles at the Zionist enemy state”, it seems that there is a rush to respond to my humble article, as I did not say that this is not his right, but rather The Iranian Foreign Ministry itself denied the news of Ahmadinejad’s intention to stone Israel!

At the conclusion of the generous response to my article, he advised me, who is sure of the demise of the Zionist state, to go to volunteer as a soldier in its army, with his realization, “But he must take into account that all traitors had tragic ends.” What betrayal is this man talking about? I just gave an opinion that I still adhere to, and I do not know if you possess such enthusiasm and drive for the Palestinian cause and are hostile to Israel, so go and lower its flag that is flying in the capital of your country first, and then give advice to others.
