The meeting of Al Wahda (Honest People) in the 9th round of the ADNOC Professional League will be a “rehearsal” for Gregory Dufrenes, technical director of Dibba Al Fujairah (Al Nawakhdha).
The positions of the two teams are in conflict, as the Noakhzha are at the bottom of the table with a score limited to an orphan point, while the happy owners are behind the leader Sharjah (the King) by the difference of positive goals only.
“This match against Al Wahda will be followed by a second match that we consider to be the final, which will bring us together with Al-Bataeh (Al Raqi),” Dufresne said, referring to one of Dibba Al Fujairah’s direct competitors.
The French coach explained, “It is better that we face a strong team to see how much we are prepared for the fateful confrontation against Al-Raqi.”
Dufresneis, who has previously trained their Excellencies, praised the Al-Assimi team, stressing, “It is an important match, and a great challenge against one of the strongest teams in the competition.”
The man, born on the outskirts of Paris, added, “We, in turn, have worked to improve our weaknesses, and we continue to improve them in every training session… We strive with every exercise, and every meeting, to raise the level and performance of the Nawakha players.”
Regarding the difficult position of Dibba Al Fujairah in the competition’s standings, Dufresne did not hide his dissatisfaction with the foreign elements in his team’s ranks.
The young coach admitted, “Maybe we did not match our choices of foreign players compared to the opponents. If the value of our foreign players was higher, we might be able to solve the problem of scoring goals, in addition to other problems.”
