Today, Thursday, Huawei announced during a special event in China about the third generation of its foldable smartphone (Huawei Mate X).
The new (Huawei Mate X3) phone is lighter than its competitors, as it weighs about 240 grams, which is 24 grams lighter compared to the (Galaxy Z Fold4) phone from Samsung. The phone also has a thickness that does not exceed 5.3 mm when it is open.
The foldable book-shaped phone has two screens that operate at a frequency of 120 Hz, and the external screen measures 6.4 inches and has a resolution of 2,504 x 1,080 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20.9:9. As for the internal screen, it measures 7.85 inches and has a resolution of 2,496 x 2,224 pixels, with an aspect ratio of 8:7.1.
The (Huawei Mate X3) phone is water and dust resistant according to the IPX8 standard, similar to the (Galaxy Z Fold 4) phone. It is the first non-Samsung foldable smartphone that supports water resistance. The phone also features two-way communication via satellite.
The new Huawei phone offers three 50-megapixel main rear cameras with f / 1.8 lens slot, 13 megapixels per second for ultra-wide photography with f / 2.2 lens slot, and 12 megapixels for the third dedicated to depth photography with a 5x zoom rate. As for the front camera, it comes with an accuracy of 8 megapixels.
Programmatically, the (Huawei Mate X3) phone runs on the Harmony OS 3.1 operating system of Huawei.
The phone contains an eight-core (Snapdragon 8 Plus, Generation 1) Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm. It also contains 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of internal storage.
It should be noted that the phone only supports 4G LTE networks, given that the company is prohibited from buying 5G modems.
The phone operates a 4,800 mAh battery that supports fast wired charging technology with a capacity of 66 watts, and wireless charging with a capacity of 50 watts.
It is reported that the phone (Huawei Mate X3) will be sold in China only (as there is no information on when it will be launched in the global markets). The 256GB option will be priced at $1,999, the 512GB option will retail for $2,050, and the 1TB option will retail for $2,340.
It is noteworthy that Huawei announced during its special event other products, such as: the new (P60) P60 series that offers three smartphones: (Huawei P60) Huawei P60, (Huawei P60 Pro) Huawei P60 Pro, and (Huawei P60 Art). Huawei P60 Art.
