Hollywood star Anthony Hopkins has stated that he has reached a “very satisfying and peaceful point” in life. “I thought I knew everything better,” the 83-year-old British actor told the German newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine. Now I realize I don’t know anything. This gives me inner peace.”
Hopkins added, “I realize that I am mortal. Someday it will all be over. But I hope I have many years ahead. My work keeps me alive. I love life and enjoy every day,” he said, adding that this was also the case during lockdown.
He continued, “I made an effort to take advantage of it to the fullest. I played the piano, read and drew.”
Hopkins’ movie “The Father” is scheduled to be shown in cinemas in Germany from January 26. Hopkins won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in this film last April.
Hopkins won his first Academy Award in 1992 for his portrayal of serial killer Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs.
